Talita Tavares

Talita Tavares, was born in Goiânia, Brazil. She did jazz and ballet for 3 years as a child. When she was 18 years old she was invited to join the team learning to dance: salsa, zouk, forró, bolero, tango and samba.

She specialized in didactics with 6 courses at the Jaime Arôxa Dance School in Rio de Janeiro and several courses and workshops in Brazil. In 2006 She opened her own dance academy, the Movimento Dance Company.

In 2008 she went to Spain and learned new dances, such as Bachata and some Cuban salsa with Cuban natives and taught in many successful events such as Sensual Dance Madrid and Bachata International Congress in Sevilla. She returned to Brazil 2009 as a teacher at the Jaime Arôxa Dance School in Goiânia.

Now in New Zealand she has done choreographs for Casa do Zouk in 2016 Bay Salsa Festival 2017. She was also teacher at Bay Festival in 2016 and 2017.

She has been a teacher for Zouk Art and The Dance Factory NZ and specializes in zouk, samba, salsa and bachata. With more than 13 years of experience and studies Talita has a lot to contribute to dance in New Zealand because like all, her goal is for the world to see the best that Brazil has to show.
