Update on our COVID-19 virus policy

We are fortunate to have at our school one of New Zealand's leading front-line doctors who are tackling this pandemic.  With the range of statements being made about this virus the Dance Factory is adhering to her advice.

  • As of 17 March 2020 we are suspending all classes until more information comes to light.  We have been advised that if you have had any contact with someone who has traveled through any airport to undertake a 14 day social isolation.  At this point social distancing is required and we are accepting our social responsibility to minimize the spread of this virus.

Please continue to practice good cough etiquette and hand hygiene. Soap and water are considered most effective. Keep a social distance of 2-metres and wash door knobs and surfaces often.  For more information visit Ministry of Health:

This is a FREE introduction to the Latin dances Zouk. If you enjoy the class, return the following week to start an 8-week Beginner block course that will help you learn more skills and increase your confidence to dance anywhere, anytime.

Zouk is a fun, modern dance suitable for all ages. For many in the younger dance crowd, Zouk has rekindled an interest in partner dancing. For those who have experience dancing other dance styles, many of the moves, techniques or concepts from those dances can be imported to Zouk, making it relatively easy to adapt to this dance. In addition, Zouk can be danced to a variety of music and a variety of moods, making it a versatile dance to know.  The steps are slow-quick-quick.
